about me
Dr Karolina Krysinska
PACFA Reg. Clinical 23712
I am a Gestalt and Gottman couples psychotherapist with a background in psychology and 25 years of experience in the field of mental health. My work is based on respectful exploration of client’s experience in the here and now, including our ongoing psychotherapy relationship.
We look together at patterns of emotional reactions and behaviours, new (yet) unfamiliar ways of being oneself and being with others, and possibilities for change and growth.
My interest in Gestalt and couples psychotherapy reflects my passion for a deeper understanding of psychological and emotional well-being and satisfactory human relationships.
In addition to my psychotherapy practice, I am a faculty member at Gestalt Therapy Australia and I hold an Honorary position (previously a Senior Research Fellow) at the Center for Mental Health and Community Wellbeing at the University of Melbourne.
I have completed Level 3 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and Relational Gestalt Supervision training endorsed by Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA).
My professional qualifications:
Degree: Psychology (MA, 1994; PhD, 2001)
Gestalt psychotherapy training: The Relational Institute Australia, 2016-2017
Gottman couples therapy training Level 1, Level 2, Level 3: Relationship Institute Australasia, 2022-ongoing
Professional membership: Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA), Clinical Member; Gestalt Australia and New Zealand (GANZ); Australian Psychological Society (APS, 2018-2024)
